It happens all the time irrespective of the car I'm driving.
https://youtu.be/ZTIugjNUiyg In the first part the Jag doesn't even attempt to stop at the junction. (Scratchy sound as it was in the Corsa.) The second part was taken yesterday. Cars don't usually stop at this junction so you have to brake anyway, but this guy comes out then stops! To me this is worse, as you have no idea what his intentions are! It would have been better if he just kept going.

I was once told by a traffic cop that you legally only have to stop for pedestrians on a pedestrian crossing. A cyclist only becomes a pedestrian if they CARRY their cycle, even if the get off and wheel it they are still a cyclist........ |

I have pondered on what standards of driving test or driving culture migrants from other member states bring with them to our shores. One would like to think that the test standard in member states would be at least equal to our own but adopted driving standards 'leaves something to desired' in my experience on foreign roads.
On the last post, you want to try driving in Lagos in the Algarve where there seems to be a local culture of just stepping out in front of cars on crossings, straight on or from an angle, many times not even looking!
