Well Atlantis is on her home for her final journey from The International Space Station.

Atlantis has landed safely.
I've just been watching the landing of the final Space Shuttle "Atlantis" This time on BBC i Player. What a difference when 30 years ago you only saw what the TV companies screened at the time, this time with i player you could watch every last second of not only the landing but all the work involved in getting the Orbitor as they call it ready for de commissioning. We owe a lot to these guys and the entire Space Programme as we now sit with our computers and linked to the internet, a lot of this I have no doubt was developed as a result of. Again well done to all the brave astronauts involved and remembering those who did not make it home. JYJ |

A sad day, I doubt we will ever see the likes of the shuttle again
