Can anybody put me at ease

At worst case we are going to have to come up with an Antenna.

As for fitting in a SIngle Din ? What car is it going in ?

I would like to receive an Email from those that are experiiencing Radio reception and TMC reception problems so I an compile a list and so I can see if there are any consistencies.

Tony's and Others are working well and We will do what we have to to get this resolved.

If you could tell me how you are connected (Re:aerials) and email me at [email protected] We may have to provide a booster or a different splitter. I will work with Tony Fry to get this done.

Sean

I think that mostly all of us have had to buy either or splitter or a seperate aerial for the TMC side of things and from my run down the M1 today it is clear that its pointing at having to buy another booster as although the TMC is working fine using the splitter, the Radio reception is not as it should be !

In talks with the factory, they have said that a splitter would reduce radio reception.
But Please email me. I need to give details. Ill make a Spread sheet.
With your comments and send to them for them to analyze

Don't be put off. I'm one of those with reception issues, but I'm still glad I installed it. The sat nav alone makes it worthwhile, with a number of different "skins" to play with, and you can always listen to your iPod, or MP3 player, or SD card, or music DVD (screen off, obviously), or streamed Blue Tooth music etc, etc.

I've also no doubt that the reception issues can and will be resolved - either by the members on here finding a solution, or Sean speaking with the factory (his after sales service is first rate).

For what it's worth, when I spoke with a car audio specialist a few days ago, he said I should have gone to them first, as they could have supplied a unit with all the functionality of Seans double din sets. The cost? A mere £1200. And it wouldn't have looked OEM!

Just been for a game of golf and when I returned to the car the volume controls on the steering wheel has gone off

Looked in set up and they were still lit up in blue. Did a reset and tried again but now the blue light wont stay on and no beep when I try to set it up.

Any ideas guys?

I agree with the factory, reception could never be as good using the splitter, simply because it shares what signal there is between the two receivers.

I took a bit of a run out today, paying a bit more attention to the FM reception, I tend never to use MW and LW....

What I found was that when I got into an area of poor reception the reception did not just become poor, it started to pick up interfering signals from something. It sounded very like quite strong interference from the CPU - a regular rushing noise, which leaves me wondering if there might be a lack of screening between the radio receiver and the digital side of things. Normally I would expect the reception to simply deteriorate to a steady hissing noise. I stopped and turned the ignition off, just to check so far as I could that it wasn't the car generating the interference - it wasn't.

Someone else (Mr Edd?) long ago commented that his reception was terrible at all times and his description fits mine, when my reception becomes very marginal.

The rest of the time, reception was not too unreasonable for the area I was in (the wilds of North Yorkshire).

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Not yet Mark. Hope it is really but difficult to understand why it suddenly happened if it is loose wires.

Would a reset solve it????

Possibly, but check for loose connections 1st !...

Even a small break in the wire could stop it from working properly
