Something for everyone here Mike, it's a lovely place and the diving is probably the best in Europe.

I was there many years ago (prob early/mid '70s ), when I was in the air cadets. Spent two weeks summer camp at RAF Luqa, now Malta International Airport.

That's a while ago now Steve! Not been Luqa for a while, I'm off exploring some of Maltas ww2 history this week, hopefully I'll report back with some decent pics.

Cool

The good news is no more hospital appointments for me, got the all clear regarding the ankle.
Plus Banana is coming home.
Zed the Ted will be off to pastures new very soon.
My new bed has arrived, so along with my neighbour we are off to get new sheets, pillows and another quilt.
And my spicy chicken casserole was bloomin’ ‘ansum this evening.

Ceased being RAF Luca in ‘79, according to Wikipedia.

We were kept well occupied there, visiting various sections, flights in a Gazelle helicopter, taken out in a RAF high speed rescue launch, can’t remember where that was based as well as the usual exercises and drill etc. During a visit to the fire/rescue section there was a full alert, an aircraft coming in with a problem, can’t recall what type it was (Phantom rings a bell), landed ok.

Good morning all from a wet and overcast Nairobi. Today we will be getting ready to head north on safari. The forecast for the weekend is sunny and hot, so I cannot complain.

What is everyone up to?

Over the years I had to visit the Psychiatric hospital in Malta to get patients back home to the UK. I didn’t have much time to explore the island.

Good morning Andy, that’s a stunning location and hotel you are in with a fabulous position and view over the sea, nice pool. Today for you both, it’s wetsuit day and scuba, what’s not to like, have fun

Water temp 22 at the surface, a 7mm wetsuit kept the chill out, really enjoyed the first dive of the year.
