Had a great time but we were in no way prepared for how hot it would be, especially the last couple of days. 28 degrees with the sun almost directly above so few chances of finding shade unless you are in the little back streets. Bought a hat, straw trilby. Probably look a right tw@t but it does help

Home tomorrow evening, looking forward to two things, seeing the girls (they’ll be hysterical!) and sleeping in my own bed!

Yeah cant beat your own bed but the last caravan we had had a great comfy bed in it. I'm the same with heat Steve, Anything over 20C is sizzling to me, I read yesterday that Spain is coping it's hottest Spring ever with temps of 38C

Weather up here is quire cool today, it’s supposed to be up to 15-17°, but inside with no heating switched on it’s only 17°. I took my bike out for about a mile away, it was the first time in the bike in the two years I have used it due to the accident. I need to get myself a new helmet to use it as I just borrowed one yesterday, I’m trying about a mile including to the next village and home, then next ride will be a little bit longer.

All the best to Andy, Steve and Ging for a safe and happy trip back to Blighty

Good morning Bob, Ian, Richard - welcome to the day

We had a great drive to London yesterday, stopping off to visit friends who live near Downtown Abbey, a chap worked for Sony for 30 years and retired from his job as head of one of their divisions in Europe. He said before he retired, he was earning £3000 per hour and now misses the money, what a shame it must have been difficult to give up that level of income and fringe benefits.

Last night, good hotel with A/C and not expensive, very clean. I had booked a disability room to check out the features. Massive TV, enormous room and bathroom which will do us nicely after I have had the op as the surgeon wants me to stay in London for 2 weeks post op in case of complications, I will be in a wheelchair for several months. But it is what it is and I will make the most of it

The A/C on our loan car was checked the other evening by an A/C specialist. He diagnosed a dead compressor and leaking condenser. Immediately he offered to replace the compressor for £600 and the condenser for £400 excluding labour, blah blah. Chatting with our friendly mechanic, a very nice man, he has ordered a recycled compressor for £30 which is much more appealing than Mr AC Jack the Lad, thank you Mr Mechanic, sir!

Seeing the surgeon this afternoon then driving back to Bristol.

Hoping for good news.

Like Bob, also have hay fever and so Bob, like myself please take the tablets

Richard I think it’s daring of you going out on a bike with a helmet. Are you talking bicycle or motorcycle? Just curious.

Cheers Phil, delayed by an hour due to bad weather and traffic in the port, typical UK issues eh?
