A smashing time in Corfu today!
Cheers Mike, just awaiting midnight here so we can crack the red eggs given to us by our hosts, been invited to tomorrow's Easter feast, it would be rude not to attend! Working my way through a bottle of ouzo as I while away the time...

Yammas.....

Decaf tea brook bond isn’t too bad, you’ll be okay. Ian, we could have done with your home cooking on the flight from Addis Ababa, the food was disgusting. 3 choices for dinner: Beef, Chicken or Fish. The beef was that tough it was like eating rubber. So I asked for a replacement and the chicken they gave me, tasted like a fish called “King Clip” swimming in oily grease, so in the end I decided not to chance it and didn’t eat anything on the plane.

Here we are on the mountain family farm overlooking False Bay and the Cape of Good Hope. Today it’s been 25C, tomorrow 28C forecast. Downside: lots of power cuts / load shedding.

A few photos……..the ponds have been built by a tenant who is renting the house, the ponds are for his collection of Koi’s. He is currently working on installing a U/V light filtration system to clear the water of algae so that he will be able to see the fish. The pond is 3 meters deep and provides protection from the birds diving in and eating the fish. The water feeds the pond from an underground spring which emanates from the base of the mountain.

Good morning Richard, thank you. The weather here is going through a hot spell over the next few days, but whenever it gets hot, there is a risk of wild fires.

In 2011 we lost the farm and the house to a wildfire so we spent years renovating and rebuilding everything.

We are high up on the slopes of the mountain and where we are, it’s fairly isolated so we learned to be self sufficient and look after ourselves. It’s very peaceful and tranquil here, we love going for walks and driving off road in the 4x4.

Whilst here we are checking on the fire breaks and other properties we rent out. All the profits are reinvested back into the upkeep of the land and mountain. We don’t take anything for ourselves.

We are lucky the tenant loves cutting the lawns and has his own mowers. He keeps a Staffy for company and security, a delightful little doggy.

Richard, hoping your recovery is going well and where you had the operation, everything is healing. Do be careful cutting the lawn and enjoy the dry weather.

Morning all,

A mixture of sun and cloud here. Should be nice weather for my photoshoot today.

I have a1965 Mini Moke and a 1968 Fiat 124 AC Coupe as my subjects.

Had a chat with the client and we have decided on a suitable location for the shoot. A place called Arlesford Creek a few miles down the road from here that I know well.
