Good morning all, morning Jeff, my apologies for missing the Beeb last night

Yesterday we had a busy day booking flights to the coast for a beach holiday at the end of March, then flights to South Africa in April and flights to the UK in May.

Accidentally booked the UK flights twice - oh darn!

And when checking with the bank they said the airline had tried twice to get payment via PayPal. Immediately contacted bank and airline - will need the 6 digit authorisation codes to keep one going through and deleting the other, a mess so will follow that up today later on. £1400 x 2 is a big hit to get wrong.

This morning I am to attend CID to get fingerprinted for the government ID card which I am in the process of renewing. They have to be carried at all times and are renewable every 3 years.

I wonder how many in the chill out lounge have been fingerprinted?

What’s everyone up to?

Morning Phil,

Hope you get your booking error sorted and getting your fingerprints on record won't bring up any past misdemeanours

I'm thinking of going out to do a sunrise photoshoot before heading off to work.
Just depends on the state of tide in about an hour. Getting off the boat in the frost if the tide is too low is rather tricky, especially in the dark.
I will do a risk assessment before trying it.
So I may, or may not risk it.

Either way my client is booked for 10.00am near Holt this morning. About an hours drive from here so I will have to 'brave it' at some point this morning getting off the boat.

This was what the bathing platform/rear access looked like yesterday when there was only a small drop from the ground to the deck.

Thank you Jeff, if it’s dangerous for you getting off the boat then leave it until the weather warms up. Similarly I have to be careful when ever I am on foot in the bush, forest or safari park in case of predators/man eaters being around.

So far I have been a good boy and need not worry about the finger print check. I wonder how you would get on? You don’t have a dog so the dogging wouldn’t flash up? Not sure about the other reprobates here

Catch you later

I was years ago when I was being vetted prior to working the Commonwealth Heads of Government train.

Ging is away to work, I’m heading back to bed for a while.

Although the height is okay for getting off, (river hasn't dropped much) I just decided as I'm going to be out for three hours on a photoshoot I didn't wan to turn up already frozen from my own photoshoot

Cool

Morning everyone.

There appears to be some white stuff falling, think it’s called snow. Rarely seen here. But the clouds are moving away so hopefully the sun will come out.

Morning all, Brrr! I can hear people scraping windscreens out there, We've got snow on frozen ground here.
I'm off shortly for round 2 at Christies.

#Oh, the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we’ve no place to go
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow#

The water levels are okay. We can get a tidal rise and fall or over 3ft here which can make getting on/off the boat a bit tricky, especially if it is slippery.
With nobody else to assist you do need to think carefully about how to do it.
I can get off the side as well which would solve the height issue (if there were one) but the side is also very slippy so caution is needed.
You have to leave slack in your mooring lines to allow for tidal range but that means the boat can have a few feet of gap on the side to the jetty. If someone else is here they can pull the mooring line to bring the boat closer. If you're on your own that can be awkward.

Still.......Only geese, ducks, swans and the odd otter here as apex predators so we don't have that to worry about

As for my fingerprints being on record...........Err..........No comment
