I used to hate early shifts when I was working and still hate getting up early, mainly because I don't sleep well in the first place now. I go back to bed after Ging has left but just lye and doze at best.

There's just the four cottages set back off the main road sort of midway between two towns, about a mile to either. Everyone gets on, the guy next door is the eldest (80s) but he's the most active, always doing something. Would do anything for you.

Son arrived home from work early hours this morning,to find a pipe had burst in his loft and flooded his bungalow out, ceilings collapsed, all carpets and furniture ruined,it will take weeks for the insurance to sort, they should be sending a clean up team in first to empty everything and dry the place out, thats before the builders can put it right,it will probably cost £25k plus.

Afternoon, what a complete pain the a*se this is being. About about 2 years ago the banister on the short bannister was not sticking in place, so I moved the bannister and drill new holes, put new screw fix hold in and now it’s just filling out with the screw fixes out and I think I’m going to have to get longer screws and larger screw holders too.

Lets hope so,plumber coming this afternoon to find the route cause and repair(the insurance do not pay for the pipes to be repaired, just the damage caused by the burst).

all carpets ruined and sofa and TV,plus kitchen units all had it if ther water ingress has crept up them, every ceiling gone and need replacing, loft will need re insulating because everything is sodden, and now the water has run down every electric wire and lights so that will be another cost.

And we now have a lodger again

I cooked some beef mince & onion this morning that needed using up & was going to put it in the freezer for Spag Bol duties later in the week but the freezers full so I put it in the garage in a shrink wrapped bowl, Just been in there and it's frozen solid

Well Bob's boiler issue jinxed me, a burst pipe outside, an issue with the boiler meant no heat, a planned power cut as well.

Pipe repaired (that was fun in -2 temps) the boiler is back up and running g and the electric os back on.

Mulled wine warming up on the stove, that was a day and a half!!
