The freezing fog is clearing and there's a strange orange glow in the sky! Summer's coming.

Morning all.

It's a good job I got to refill the bird feeders as we've been greeted by snow this morning. There's a proper bun fight going on outside and our Robin has remembered how to hang on to get his share . There's a couple of male blackbirds spending most of their time chasing each other while the smaller birds are scoffing like crazy. Daft pair, there will be none left if they don't pack it in and come to the table. Fascinating to watch .

Ian - Quizzie's not that nutty. . Not far off but not quite there . Great video. Thanks. Quizzie will be out in the snow soon - she adores it. Has your Damart order arrived yet with the tartan slippers for when you're sitting by the fire - cue Jasper Carrot sketch .

Phil & Jessica - have a safe journey home and I trust you're taking some memories to treasure with you.

Bob - enjoy your day. We had some nasty fog last night so be extra careful as some folks don't seem too bothered about how they drive when they can only see a short distance . Enjoy the cake and the company.

Jeff - more glorious food photos coming soon...... I hope .

Andy - leave the bike, put the kettle on and have a warm, relaxing day.

And to everyone, take care.

Morning. The bitter cold here has been replaced with cold and wet in the form of rain showers. Preferred the bitter cold!

You know it

Home made pork, cranberry and chestnut stuffing balls made.
Wholegrain Mustard&Honey glaze knocked up for the gammon when it goes in the oven.
Gammon in slow cooker for six hours on a quartered onion and a little water.
Veg peeled and ready.
Now to knock up the wholemeal batter mix for the Yorkshire puds...

Hopefully it will all come together for teatime

Cool

The weather reports put me off to go the toy fair and the Macmillan Coffee and Cake meet. Watching cars on the black ice outside home was enough to cancel. As soon as it was safe to go out, my neighbour put loads of rock salt down on the pavement and on the path leading to my front door, I went out and got the Fiesta moved out of the allocated park spot. And I put Banana in that parking bay.

Chicken casserole for tea.

BBC News quote:-
"Harry Kane equalled England's scoring record with his 53rd goal - but his night ended in anguish with a 2-1 World Cup quarter-final defeat by France.Kane levelled Wayne Rooney's mark with a second-half penalty in Qatar.

But the 29-year-old spurned the chance to surpass Rooney when he missed a second spot-kick later in the game."

Perhaps he aimed too high?

Semi final = "penalty mate?" game!
