This wasn't my regular diabetic eye screening Steve.
This was to check on my retinopathy progression and how well my treatment for it has worked.

Not sure how long you have been diagnosed with type2 diabetes, for me it's coming up to nearly twenty years and my B/S control had slipped over the last few of them.
As you know, it is a progressive condition and its complications can vary from person to person.
Well done keeping your levels low. Long may it continue.

Mine are recovering now since I have drastically cut down on the carbs and was put back on a medication I should have never been taken off of. Mainly Gliclazide.

Having the treatment and the very real scare of losing my eyesight has been a wake up call for me and I'm now monitoring my condition far more and learning what foods spike my blood sugars and which have a lower glycemic index and don't cause such spikes.

Now all I need is to get my shoulder working properly and I'll be a happy camper.

......And with that, it's back in the kitchen for me.
Small matter of a roast chicken dinner to prepare

Jeff, it’s great to hear your eyes do not require any more laser treatment for the time being and you have more insight and a greater understanding of type 2.

I remember it was about 10 years ago I had a conversation with 3 friends who were all type 2. One said he didn’t care about it, as long as the medication enabled him to eat what he loved. He went onto needing Insulin, very sadly he lost his life to something unrelated to Diabetes RIP. In terms of educating him about Diabetes, I could not reach him as he was a difficult character.

One friend of the 3 was pre-Diabetes and he responded to my advice about making significant changes to his diet. To this day, he has not progressed onto diabetic medication.

The other of the 3 friends continues to learn and live with type 2. He is on Insulin and suffers from Diabetic Retinopathy and Diabetic Neuropathy as well as that, he has a bad heart.

Positive thoughts……

Morning all, Brr! It's a bit parky out there but at least that easterly wind has abated.
