I've been beavering away in the kitchen this morning preparing some of the bits for dinner tonight.

Homemade Pork Sausagemeat, chestnuts, cranberries and pancetta stuffing constructed.
This was swiftly followed by a Plum Crumble made with wholemeal spelt flour and Demerara sugar alternative...

Lastly wholemeal batter mix mixed and ready to make Yorkshire Puds and Potatoes and Parsnips peeled and ready.

Yum You're no slouch in the kitchen Jeff. Very nice. I'm not doing much today, just pegged some laundry out on the line whilst it's nice & warm & put the car on charge.

I'm enjoying a Melton Mowbray pork pie & glass of cider at the moment.

Washing the filters out of the cooker hood. Ging was frying fresh sardines last night, walked past the cooker hood, it was like a slap in the face!

Cheers Ian ....

I'm getting what I can prepared in advance as there is part 2 of the Brazilian Grand Prix on this evening and Football to watch this afternoon

Crumble and Stuffing now cooked ready for reheating at dinner time. Pork Belly was cooked yesterday in the slow cooker ready to finish off in the oven for dinner
Parsnips and potatoes peeled ready for roasting. Carrots washed and will also be roasted, Cabbage shredded and wholemeal batter mix for Yorkshire Puds made and in the fridge.

Gravy made from the root vegetables that were in the slow cooker with the Pork Belly that formed last nights Pork casserole. Rind was removed from Pork before putting in slow cooker and cooked separately in the oven....Had a sample last night. Was delicious

The smell of cooking oil and fish . . . . it ain't Chanel No 5.

Cooker hood badly needs dismantling and thoroughly cleaned but I haven't worked out how to get it in bits yet

Update: Filters still smell of fish . . . . running them through a rinse cycle with fabric conditioner. Hopefully they'll smell better after that.

Just ordered one o them there new fangled microwave pressure cookers which are a bit smaller than the original steel ones, Cooks stuff in minutes the same way which would be nice with the price of energy these days. They seem to get good reviews.
