That's an odd coincidence. It was the one camera angle that made me feel really weird. Otherwise all was excellent. |

Morning all,
Blood thinners stopped on Sunday night. The pre-op appointment was cancelled due to staff being off sick from COVID, but it was rescheduled for yesterday which went ahead, all tests and ECG completed. Staff being off sick from Covid shows it’s still around and hasn’t gone away. I had to cancel the pneumonia vaccination for tomorrow as the hospital said it was too close to having surgery. I was given of pack of Chlorhexadine antiseptic wipes to wipe over the body after showering on the morning of the op on Monday. They gave me a 6 pack of high calorie drinks which I am to take within 24 hours pre-op, apparently this speeds up recovery. Then I had to do nasal, anal and groin swabs to screen for any infection. Lots of blood samples taken for cross-match, this and that, then we were were taken to ICU which has restricted visiting from 12-7pm and we were shown to the 12 th floor, the ward where I will be in for 7-10 days. Monday morning I am to have a spinal anaesthetic before they put me to sleep. This will stay in place for 5 days post op, it is do with pain management. Somehow this all feels a bit unreal as though I want to be somewhere else. What’s everyone up to? Last edited by Gate Keeper; 22nd September 2022 at 05:11.. |

Morning Phil and fellow early risers.
Another Misty start. Washing in the whirly machine. Chicken casserole in the slow cooker. Essential shopping today with the wee car.

It just doesn't end! The continuing poor health of my 75 was/is one of the reasons I bought a turbodiesel Citroën ZX as a running project/spare, but now that's died, too!
I guess I'll be having a crack at fixing it once the rain stops, I'm thinking glow plug control box or stop solenoid. Gate Keeper, very best of luck with your surgery, I hope you come out the other side with no issues. |

All the best for the op Phil.
I'm recovering from wandering around York with Ging and her relatives all day yesterday, with my various medical issues I don't have the stamina for all day wandering. Ging is actually away down to see them again. Her "uncle" is a cousin of Ging's mother, actually a retired Philippine Air Force brigadier general, her "aunt" I'd met before a few years ago. Picking up the hormone therapy stuff from the chemist today. Although I'm not expecting an instant change to my energy levels but hopefully there will be a difference once it takes effect. Brilliant! Still not arrived. Phoned the GP's and got a call back from the practice pharmacist after she made enquiries, stuff is unavailable . . . . anywhere! Having to wait for the manufacturer making a batch which won't be available until the first week of October, if the practice contacted the specialist to issue a different prescription would probably take just as long before it was processed . . . . thoroughly pee'd off
