Reading this thread..

http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=44021

I presume that the synergy unit had no part in the injector failure which resulted in the crankshaft breaking?

That's good news, as it has to be refitted as I have the Pierburg MAF installed.....

Engine currently in the process of being repaired...... Please DO NOT ask the price, after last year's troubles, I'm trying very hard not to think about it!!! Suffice to say, If you count the costs of repairs from last year, and the current, envisaged, cost... I could have bought a couple of tourers & a 25!!!!!

Sorry Andrew please re read my edited post.
I left out the all important "NOT" word!
I do NOT think Synergy caused Injector failure.

I think you missed "" this one as well

Thanks for the confirmation, I doubted if it would have had any direct bearing on causing the injector to fail.......

The question is, do I trust the other three injectors ?

Or should I go for a V*? After all, to date, the running costs would be a lot less!!!!

I think you've just been damn unlucky. It can happen with any make of car. We tried fixing a toyota yaris for 18 months that had a long string of electrical failures. In the end we gave up and got the owner to sell it. Never heard of that sort of thing affecting a toyota before. My uncles Vitesse was always breaking down, yet my dads never did...just luck of the draw I suppose.

If it makes you feel any better Andrew, a friend's Saab 95 53 Reg 3.0 Diesel with just 60k miles on broke down on him in France.

Got it recovered home, and was faced with a £3,500 bill
(HP fuel pump failure supposedly said the Garage)
Personally I would have expected a whole new engine for that amount.

Guess it's payback tome for all the years of motoring with nothing more than annual services (which I did myself) and worn components

I've never come across an injector failing so drastically it flooded the cylinder and cause a hydraulic lock on any engine. I still find it very hard to believe - presumably head gasket failiure has been completely ruled out?

The Synergy will NOT cause this: it is a very unfortunate 'one off'.

The Synergy is only one of many common rail tuning products and they'd all have a 'bad name' if they caused reliability problems of any sort. They've been around for almost as long as common rail engines - getting on for 10years now and there is still no evidence highlighting long term reliabilty issues.

Thanks for Clarification Ron,
the answer as most on here expected, still can't believe what has happened in this "one" off event,
and I (as are many) am still perfectly happy to run mine with Ron Box and remap!!

Thank you Ron,
Not doubting the product, just got to ask the question to eliminate all possibilities. Looks like an injector failure caused this then.....
