Morning all.
Dry but overcast here. The solution to the broken bird feeder is concrete in a plant pot with a 40mm plastic waste pipe in the middle. The pot shall be cut off and the block up-ended. Probably slide a 32mm pipe inside the larger one and then the pole so it can be swapped over when Mr Squirrel destroys the pole. I'll see if it gets SWMBO's approval later today after Quizzie has been out on her date with Bertie . Take care. |

Morning strangers - it's quite mild here - grey skies but only pale grey. I've had a 'orrible couple of days. Tuesday, whilst acting as transport for granddaughter, daughter and missus, the car battery gave up the ghost in the clinic carpark (a long story, probably self inflicted problem ). What started out as around 2.5 hours away from home turned into 5 hours plus. AA got us going again, and confirmed that battery was OK, but needed some serious charging - just as well, as I was quoted £245 for a new battery !!!! These auto stop/start systems demand a much more 'punch' battery.
Gave the car a good run around to let the alternator do its job - safely home. Yesterday, decided to put the battery on charge, using my 'intelligent charger'. Bending over in the drive, in a really cold wind, I felt a twinge in my back as I connected the electrics - and spent the rest of the day walking around like a cross between a ruptured duck and a one legged penguin. This morning, the pain has eased a fair bit - but I'm not going to enter the London Marathon anytime soon

Before I go gardening again I'm going to buy an armoured leather romper suit like the motorbike racers wear! Managed to trip and fall while tidying up the front garden yesterday, landed on my knees on the gravel. That sounds painful enough but add to that I was wearing shorts, tore my left knee to shreds as it took the brunt of the impact. Managed to find a bandage big enough to just about cover the whole knee. Suzy was fascinated, kept coming over to examine the bandage. I'm hobbling around today.

Afternoon all, What a grey ol day it's been. Potted on some seedlings but very few of my tomato & pepper seeds have germinated Must still be too dismal & cold yet. Pasty, oven chips & mushy peas for tea tonight
