There's photos in local press of Ronnie's favourite holiday resort - Seaton Carew, packed in like suicidal sardines.

I see it as a form of denial, it is how people cope in desperate times. It will take a shock like something happening to them at a personal level before it hits them hard enough to make those changes similar to what Angela and yourself are having to do, Julien and Dawn. Who else is enduring self isolation for 12 weeks? Today, I had to go to buy medication from the Khrishna Pharmacy in Nairobi. There was a young woman who came in to ask if she could buy Chloroquine an anti-malarial, which has been shown to reduce the amount of mucus in the back of the throat during an infection of Covid-19. The pharmacist showed her the tablets, a strip of 20 costing around £25 for the strip. She burst into tears screaming she would have to ring someone about buying it or not, she was hysterical and ran out of the pharmacy. When my order was completed, we went home. We will be staying on the farm, we have food, drink and fresh air A lovely day here, hot and bright sunshine. ... the garden and forest Nairobi by philip Gate Keeper, on Flickr How are you coping with the self isolation? |

Mother's Day yesterday consisted of son & daughter putting cards through the letterbox - and knocking on the window to let us know they were there. Daughter has been sent home from her schoolteaching job - despite the fact she'd volunteered to stay on now the schools are shut (over Easter too) - she's asthmatic, so is classed as at risk. I think the biggest problem with isolation is going to be the boredom factor - there's only so much gardening and book reading you can do - and daytime TV isn't really to my taste. If all else fails, we've got a total of about 2.5 litres of gin, and quite a lot of tonic water (slimline of course ) - so we won't die of dehydration

He posted on Facebook about it, said the chippys all had massive queues, beaches were crowded too. Insane, but maybe it was people having a last hurrah before the country goes into total shutdown.

Over the last 10 years I have noticed this country becoming much more of a self centered society, so nothing surprises me now

Agree totally Richard, the scenes of panic buying just shouts 'Greed & Me Me Me'
