![]() Good morning everyone
![]() This morning it is chilly and the sun is shining, with no rain at the moment. Yesterday I removed the boot carpets and last night I treated them, soaking overnight with a solution of vinegar, as they had white mould underneath. This morning I carried on cleaning with a stiff brush and sodium bicarb, finishing them off with carpet cleaner and conditioner. Just waiting for the carpets to dry over the bath. I made a good job as the carpets look new and the stains have gone, not stinky On checking, the sunroof drains and window seals are okay, the back lights are suspect. A set of rear light cluster seals arrived with Granville red grease seal. I am hoping these measures will stop the water from coming into the boot, time will tell ![]() |

You can start on mine next 😂. Two more places to check. The boot hinge bolts and were the plastic pins that keep rear window in place come through top of the boot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I will certainly carry out the checks in the other areas you have suggested, thank you very much Nigel ![]() This afternoon, I rang up a GM/Isuzu dealer to ask about ordering an OEM timing belt kit for the 4x4 to take back to Africa. Just for the belt alone, I was quoted £140, which can be delivered tomorrow, but the tensioner will take 2 weeks. I was shocked and thought rip off prices, so ordered from Milners, a new belt (104 teeth - made in Singapore). The tensioner and a new thermostat, everything with delivery and VAT, all in for £63. The thermostat in the 4x4 struggles to get to 83C and you know, how fairly important it is to have a thermostat on a 4x4 working properly ![]() |
