![]() Afternoon all, still mild & dry now. Got an haircut at the 5 quid barbers
![]() ![]() ![]() It's a cooking afternoon namely dumplings ![]() All the ingredients are in and the dumpling press, I got the large one & maybe I should have got the small one, they're big dumplings ![]() I've made a batch of them for tonight's tea to go into some home made chicken broth. I used pork mince, chopped spring onion, tsp of minced garlic, minced ginger, light soy sauce & sesame oil. I made the dumpling mix with general purpose flour, rolled them out in circles big enough to cover the dumpling mould with a good tsp of the pork mixture & pressed the mould together. They look like little pasties I shall report back when I've cooked & tasted them. I've also made some bread dough which is rising and will be ready to cook later. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Quote:
That's sad news indeed, RIP Jean Ferguson.

![]() Well, that's the weirdest thing I've had in the post for a while . . . . a flyer for a "traditional mole catcher"

![]() As I said didn't have anything to do with 31s but started and moved one once when I was still a 2nd man. Came on duty for a shed turn to find a 31 parked on its own in of one of the loco stabling roads. The cantankerous old driver I was on with was determined he wasn't touching it as he wasn't trained on it. After a while I got sick of working around the 31 blocking the road, had a look around in the engine room and found the main battery switch, got it started and moved it out of the way.

![]() Morning everyone.
Again no clouds in the sky. Was really nice yesterday on my walk around Plymouth. Chilly breeze but the sun stayed out all day. Of to a toy fair in Exeter today.

![]() An early visit for me on a weekend, mead to get up as my son is off on an advanced first aid course today with the air cadets. I have a carpet cleaning job mid morning, so had to book him a taxi.
When I finish, we are going to make a start emptying my aunt’s house, not a task I relish. It really hit me yesterday quite suddenly. Although we didn’t see each other regularly, we always kept in touch by email and text. She and my late uncle were much more popular than I realised, she had many friends and was very highly thought of by her church community, for whom she did an awful lot. That was shown by the amount of people who attended her service, the church was practically full and when we stood at the back to greet people as they came out, it took a good 15 minutes before everyone was out. We have had a few cards and letters put through her door, saying what a lovely person she was, which is comforting and nice to know she was so highly thought of.
