Morning all - a pleasantly fresh and sunning day at the moment, but forecast to be wetter later.
I had my visit yesterday from "the heating boiler people whose name I daren't mention as Richard will blow his gasket". He did what was required - but what a whinger! First of all - "oh the boiler is in the loft - that's not very helpful on a warm day like today" - then "oh there's not much of a gap between the boiler and the loft hatch cover is there" and finally - "it's really hot up here". I'll give them 9 out of 10 for WHAT he did - but about 3 out of 10 for his attitude.

Yes gardening work for me too, Besides trying to keep the slugs & snails at bay I noticed this morning the alder tree in the front garden has got a alder leaf larva infestation I need to read up if there's a suitable way of getting rid of them. Got to love those French runner beans, I collected a colander full yesterday for tea. The greenhouse is heaving with tomatoes & the bell peppers and are almost the size of a tennis ball now. Quote:
LOL I used to get the same whinging from the electric meter reader before we had smart meters installed, Our electricity supply comes in at ceiling height in these old houses and all we got from them was.......we don't carry ladders any more & we're not allowed to use customers ladders or climb on furniture. He said you need to get it moved to ground level I said if you want to pay the £1500 (that's the cheapest quote I've had ) to get it moved for your convenience I'm all ears.

Tipping down here and has been since about 10.15, looks like rest of day going to be wet. Not what I want whem I'm supposed to be going on holiday next week. Currently sat in a car park waiting for rain to stop. If I give up and ho home, I will get halfway and the rain will stop and the sun come out. Then if I turn round and go back to work, the rain will start again. That's what usually happens

LOL Yeah I've launched a few over the fence too. Just been sweeping up the silver birch seeds (wheel barrow full) from the trees across the back and noticed a torrent of water coming from under next doors back garden gate, I cant see into the garden as the high gate is locked but they got a huge inflatable swimming pool the other week, looks like it's sprung a leak

Nearly got caught! Rain started just as I walked into Tesco, could hear it hammering on the roof, stopped by the time I came out.
Car is still there, anybody want to buy an 04 plate Evo3 |

Rain was forecast here for this afternoon but as yet nowt, The skies have darkened and the wind has picked up in the last half hour so as there's a load of laundry on the washing line I dare say it's not far off. I've done some braising steak for tea with new potatoes & broccoli in garlic butter for tea

Wet steps+smooth soled shoes = disaster. Went down two steps on my posterior. Took me nigh on an hour to get back up to the house. Painkillers have now kicked in so will survive.

You're getting on a bit for a career as a stuntman Bob. Hope the aches and pains aren't too bad.
