![]() In the driver training the 47 was the basic loco up here, just about went into it at a nut and bolt level. Used to throw you when you got one of the original 47s though, numbered 47401-420 in BR days. Substantially different braking, control and starting system to all the rest of them.

![]() Morning all, Brrrrr! We've had torrential rain/sleet/hailstone overnight, It's a bit parky out there too.
![]() I took to my bed yesterday afternoon as if coming down with something, still feel dresdful & our daughter has just informed me her Ford diesel Kuga wont start. I don't think I'll be even lifting the bonnet on a day like this plus I'm not reet. ![]() Quote:
I'm sure there is a route with one of the old ones on Drax power station where you shunt the coal hoppers and unload them. I spent a good few hours on this around Minehead Somerset. There is an audio add on you can buy for these 47/37's that sound very realistic as the engine starts & powers up etc. ![]()
