Phil, how on earth do you sleep at night I would be a bag of nerves going through what you put up with. Do you never think of staying here,or is there "that something" which keeps you at home

My parents passed away within weeks of each other a while ago Phil, we inherited their house. We are still of sorting out what we are keeping out of the two houses (we have at least two of everything!) and preparing our old house to go on the market.

We liked our house and neighbours, well some of them but it was a fairly new (therefore "compact"!) house in the middle of an estate, look out of the window all you could see were other houses. Here we are in a row of just four cottages, we know the neighbours and they are fine, look out of the window you look straight over the River Forth estuary to Fife. I posted the pic below a while ago but I've added it again so that you can see what I'm talking about.

I will let you into a secret Ronnie. I have no plans to settle here. We are only here because I am retired and SWMBO is having time out from her work. The farm has been in the family for 90 years but had become neglected. So we were asked to bring it back up to spec . Despite losing it to a wild fire 2 years ago, we are getting it back on track... doing up the houses renting them out, regenerates the farm and is an investment for the future generations. That's the plan. The violence is almost the worst I have seen with people being tortured, men and women gang raped on the farms round here. Other farms have had it worse than us. How do I cope? Yesterday I was a bag of nerves. Today, I am okay. I do keep a weapon in the bedroom! so far not had to use it lol

Steve I am sorry you had to recall what happened to your folks. A lovely location and looks so tranquil in those photos. You are working hard to make things right for yourselves and I see you have been busy going between the two houses. You said about not liking A&E?
