Yes at last.

The gear box menders called me in to have a look, some one had been at it some time in its life, some of the components were from a different car
And some guides left out just to make it work.

Manual gear boxes on p6's are rare.
But they got there in the end.

Just need to sell the car now to pay for the work

Evening all. had a few spits & spots of rain then it petered out, looks like I'll be watering the plants tonight.

Great news about your gearbox being fixed Freddie.

It is my understanding that if your dad died during the registration process (i.e., that is before the process completed and LPA granted) then you can claim a full refund as opposed to the partial refunds outlined in the link above. The GOV.UK website also provides some clear info and gives links and phone numbers for help and guidance. Click

With regard to systems in general I know only too well that you might have to fight for your dues and the help and guidance which should be volunteered freely by those who are often well-paid to do so. Don't let them grind you down, get in there and get back what is rightfully yours.
We got the money back from OPG Steve, but the money paid the the Building Society he had his account with is unrefundable. It was £415 , plus the opg fee. As above, the opg fee was refunded,as it had not been processed by the time dad passed away.
