OFFLINE GOOGLE MAPS

That's right, the lastest update to google maps allows you to download cached maps for specific areas enabling you to use google maps offline. To do this you go into settings to the Google Labs area and select the pre-cached maps option. To cache an area you long press somewhere on the map that you want to cache an area around. Eventually an address will come up. Tap the address and go to the bottom where it enables you to pre-cache the area around the address. You can do this multiple times to cover a city. A square will show up to show the cached area.

disconnected my android unit the other day to do something, think it was to sort out swc, but anyway when i connected everything up again, tuned radio in again and i cant seem to get the radio station names up anymore, cant remember how i did it before, is it something to do with the af button?

Not had any alcohol today, honest! (yet):elvis:

Once you have tuned into a station press the frequency you selected on the right for a couple of seconds and the station name should appear. I leave the AFswitched on.

Default iPhone 4S - WiFi tethering

I thought I would share my experience connecting my iPhone 4S to the Dynandroid.
First off - it works! My 4S is off the shelf, no subsidies or ties, so if you have carrier restrictions the following may not apply.

1. Open your iPhone 4S SETTINGS app.
2. Select PERSONAL HOTSPOT
3. Set to ON
4. Enter a PASSWORD

5. Open SETTINGS on the Dynadroid
6. Select WiFi
7. Select/tick both top items
8. Click search for network
9. Click Add Network
10. Type the NAME of your iPhone 4S (the name you gave it when starting first time - same name as will appear in Bluetooth).
11. Select WPA2
12. Enter same PASSWORD as in 4.
13. Click Connect

You should now have your iPhone 4S tethered, and shown in the menu.

Remember to have your iPhone 4S WiFi set to on BEFORE starting your car.
