It just beggars belief! I've just had to go out to half a dozen teenage yobo's who were taking the Christmas lights of the shrubs in the front garden & the wreath off the font door.

I got an earful of abuse from them and just had a barrage of icy snowballs pelting the front window. What a bunch of ^&%$")*(&'s

Yeah you're right there Andy. We seem to have more than our fair share of deadbeats around here.

We're lucky here Ian, but I would be tempted to go out and confront them. Then again there is also the fear of reprisals, this wouldn't have happened in our generation. Respect has gone out of the window sadly.

I would post up a link showing videos of several public whippings for young hooligans in Nairobi by the police, but I won’t as this is a family forum. Judicial corporal punishment was made illegal 8 years ago, but it still goes on. If the police dishing it out get caught, they risk being prosecuted. There have been calls in parliament to have it reinstated. I can’t see it happening as the trend is aimed at using rehabilitation instead.

I agree with you Steve about the risks of reprisals and the other thing is they can make accusations in the face of anyone going out and taking them on. I admire Ian for defending his property and home.

A sad evening given the latest news about Derek. It’s hard to know what to say, except that I have many happy memories of Derek and Lilian from our local meets and the time when we went to the BTCC with Jeff was fantastic, a fun day with Lilian and Derek, Ros and Jeff ....

A very fond memory of that day with Yourself and Derek and of course Ros and Derek's two Grand Sons.

Hopes and prayers for Derek and all the love and thoughts for Lilian and for Derek's wider family.

Very sad times indeed.
