Morning all, It's a grey day with that fine drizzle, I've just hobbled out to shut the front gate ( I've progressed from walking like Douglas Badar to Hopalong Cassidy now, the sciatica pain is slowly easing but it sure lets you know if you try to bend ) and I'm wet through.

Glad to hear you're on the mend Phil, have you any idea where you picked up the trotskies!

Biggest mistake I made was a few years ago on holiday in France, We had a few days in Paris then Ging wanted to visit Lourdes. Last evening in Paris we went to a restaurant, steak tartare sounded OK. What arrived resembled a raw burger . . . . hmm, not so sure about this. Ate some of it. Flew to Lourdes the following morning, walking around Lourdes, I don't feel right. Spent the next 36 hours in the hotel room within running distance of the loo.

Did you see the forecast on Sky news. Apparently the warmer weather will carry on through September.

Good morning Phil - sorry to hear of your tribulations, but happy to hear you're already on the mend. I hope the fine September weather forecast is right - we're off next Monday for 8 days in the caravan, so a drop of sunshine wouldn't go amiss

.....and a good morning to everyone else too - it's not red hot and sunny here, but dry and fairly bright after some overnight rain. We paid a visit to a huge local car boot sale yesterday. Some of the stuff on sale - I'd be embarrassed to be seen taking it to the rubbish tip

I'm on "other side of the fence" painting duties today. Next door neighbour has gone to her daughter's for a few days, so we can paint her side of our fence without being "encouraged" to do other garden work for her
