To quote Officer Crabtree - "Good moaning"
'tis I - Rodders - returned to the fold after a self imposed exile.
From the day we arrived home from our holidays (7th July) to an absolute mountain of stuff through the letterbox to deal with (including a car tax reminder - expired whilst I was away ) - to this last weekend, life has been indescribably hectic. I won't bore you with the details, but suffice to say the culmination was the disastrous news that TWO lifelong (from about 14 onwards) friends, including one who was best man at my wedding, have both got cancer. The latter has been given only three months, whereas the other one is at such an early stage that no prognosis has yet been made - but it's not treatable.
These two bits of bad news rather floored me for a while; I grew up with them both, holidayed with them, played football, cricket & snooker with them, drank with them - to say the least it was a horrible shock and partially explains my absence from the LCOZ for the past few weeks.

But - I'm back now, and hopefully will continue to entertain you with inane comments, risqué jokes and the odd sensible post

Rod, I am doing really well. Every day there is less pain and the wound has almost closed up. A big cut 10 inches, so not surprised with that. I was back behind the wheel yesterday and there was no problem. Wearing braces instead of a belt has really helped. I just been out for a walk and doing okay thank you, thank you very much
