Went for the heat shrink option...fitted...working. Seemed to raise boot profile a bit so adjusted 13mm bolts. Washers close but not catching.

BTW mine comes with both push button option in the car and a key option in the boot lid...after watching very carefully using the in car button, I tried it with the key (well someone has to) and I have to say if you're expecting it, it's not too alarming and there is a slight delay...just leave the key in the boot lock till you're ready to close it again...or at least until you've had a practice!

Photos on post 227 steve I made the washers myself from aluminium I made them using some spare hinges so I could make sure everything cleared the bottom washers have a taper to prevent them fouling the clip and the top ones are secured with a 3mm grub screw so they can be moved for getting the ideal tension I'm sorry to say but the springs are not strong enough to open my boot

You must have a very heavy boot then, all the other posts are saying that they are very pleased with the springs & that they work great, I have had mine fitted for about 5 weeks now and never failed to open

Or partially seized hinges!

Have you lubed the pivot points, as it's very strange that your's appears to be the only boot they won't open!
