There seems to be an outbreak of bonnet release problems.
My neighbour has the same trouble. I think I can see how to acheive this from looking at mine but a PM would be appreciated before I start.

This information is only given out to members who actually have the problem. It is distributed via PM's only and is not for general promulgation, and especially to non-members. The reason is for the security of the members' cars.

It is also never distributed on a "just in case" basis. So on this basis I regret to say that we cannot accede to your request.

To all members....

It is strongly recommended you read the following guides to help prevent your bonnet failing to open in the future:

Modifying the junction box
Service the bonnet lock mechanisms

I wonder how many members have that feeling of apprehension every time they pull the bonnet release. Mines all modded and greased up but I still get that little rise in the blood pressure every time I pull the bonnet...and I've been there so I know how to fix it if it happens...yet still............................................. ........ !!!

I thank you for your assistance to a fully paid up member. The guy I'm trying to help has bent over backwards to help me in the past. I told him I knew where I could get help. I'm dumbfounded to find I was wrong. He's too elderly to do this himself so I offered to help.

I would be grateful and conscientious if you were to reconsider.

Although relatively new to this website and this also apologies for contributing to a thread that has nothing to do with me: Does anyone not find it strange that there are so many 'new' people with only one or 2 posts asking this question and then never commenting again? On the other hand someone who is a paid member and has posted many times is not considered suitable for the info?
Am not sure how keeping the info for only sending to people via PM helps keep it safe from people with unscrupulous ideas, no one has a clue who these new people are the instructions are being sent to do they? Or have I got it wrong, in which case sorry!
