of no. seven.at some time and caused so much rust even honing the bore theres still a massive void.
Thats what made the oil seal to leak to much crankcase pressure.

They have found me a block from an 1992 rover (twenty years younger than my car ) with stronger crankshaft and rubber seals instead of rope.
They can use my pistons with new rings.
My camshaft and heads that are ok.
Still not cheap but should last me awhile .Boy racer that i am

That's good they've sourced you a block so soon Freddie, I saw quite a lot of those old V8 blocks turned into coffee tables with glass tops for sale at car shows up & down the country.

My mate just caught his in time about 15 years ago, He had a 1962 Cadillac that had a crack in the cast iron block when he was restoring it. It had it stitchwelded. they came out to his garage to do it. you couldn't tell there had ever been a crack in the cast iron block when they'd done.
I cant remember how much he said it was now. He kept it another three or four years before he sold it & it never failed on him.
