Thumbs up Hi-line Sat Nav Unit

Hi new to this site but ive seen some top tips already!!
Anyway took my mg zt into x-part in wolves today after the system didnt seem to recognise the sat nav unit existed and the screen in the front kept going off and on?? has ayone got any advice or experiencing the same thing? X-part think water has got into the sat nav unit in the boot but im not so sure. I dont suppose anybody knows where to pick up a MK 3 sat nav cd unit?

Hi Rob Cov,

Welcome to the club

Sorry cant help with the fault but have you checked the boot for water ?

The best place for Sat nav units is to keep a eye on eBay,

Good luck and keep us posted.

to the Club Rob Cov.

The Sat Nav does have problems if it gets wet so check the Boot for puddles.
Another thing to check is all the Interconnecting Cables on Units and behind Head Unit.
If they come loose you can get all sorts of problems.
Do you get an OK TV picture?
If not then it may be the TV tuner at fault not the Sat Nav Computer as this gives the Output for the Head Unit Picture.
The best place to obtain these parts is on EBay as Kandyman above stated.
The MK4 DVD BMW unit is also a straight swap being more up to date with more facilities available to it. You would of course then need a DVD Sat Nav Disc.
If you disconnect the Battery or go to swap over Sat Nav units, follow the proper Shutdown procedure, do a search on forum, basically the Sat Nav Computer must not show any lights on it, if you disconnect when a light shows it will permanently ****** up the Unit.
