Default Message Centre and T4 (or one for Keith)

In the general post weekend sporting failures gloom am I imagining things? I thought that there was a recent thread that outlined the T4 sequence needed to swap over IPKs, but can I find it now?? No

Reason for searching is that I am calling in at my local Xpart service centre tomorrow and they confess that they have never changed an IPK and thus are not sure of the T4 sequence. Any comments as to how it is done that I can give them?

PS the screwdriver bit is OK, swapped the IPKs over temporarily yesterday just to make sure that the old one would come out (which it did)

Thanks
Neil

Neil,

I haven't got a clue what you're on about regarding IPK's etc, but I noticed that you mentioned a local X-part dealer in Notts. Where would this be?.

Cheers,

Steve.

Hi, thanks, but it was the operation of T4 in the change over that I thought I had read about.

Macey, J F Hopewell in Nottingham are an xpart service centre.

The official way to do it is to follow the on screen instructions once the second menu has been chosen - System Diagnostics - Instrument cluster -replace ecu

But I find you often have to have two or three goes at it for the coding to take, it is not always a five minute job as people like to think!

So it is just as easy to plug the new cluster in before you even connect testbook then as it reads the car details it will prompt to code it

Whilst there please ask which diag disk they currently have mine is DST0005 I am interested to know if there is a later one now

Thanks Keith, that was what I was looking for, but tell me, have you posted that before? I'm sure I've read it elsewhere but spent an hour searching and could'nt find it.
Cheers
Neil
