![]() Hi all. My new brake pad clips arrived from rimmers this morning. Part no. SEV000010 however I'm worried they may be the wrong ones for the front calipers. Can anyone clear this up once and for all please? I know it may sound odd but mine are missing so I've no idea what they're meant to fit like on this car. I was half expecting the more normal piece of bent wire than a clip like these.

![]() Just had an email from Rimmers saying there's an error with the MG parts catalogue and they suggest ordering part number SEV100070 as it looks like the part needed.

![]() I think Rimmer are incorrect. The 180/190 front brakes use the flat steel clips similar to those fitted to the rear calipers of the other models (see stocktake's photo). The flat clips you ordered (SEV00010) are correct. The ones they are suggesting (SEV100070) are the round wire clips fitted to the front of all other models.
It seems all models use the same flat clips on the rear calipers (SMK100310). You certainly cannot rely on the Rimmer drawings, which use the same image for both front and rear brakes, so each shows the round wire clip. I suspect this may be the root of confusion all round. TC |

![]() Yep. Its all sorted now. The springs take a lot of bending, a lot more than I thought they would have been safe to take. The brakes feel different somehow now though, softer in a way.
