Smile have you fitted a chip?

Hi, I have just bought my second MG, this one a ZT-T 135bhp x-power grey
2003 and was thinking of having it ' chipped' However I see the prive vary from £180 to about £20 or less on E Bay and so would appreciate any feed back you have on your experience or knowlage to help me choose.

Many thanks.

Hi Hoody good to see a member from Kent
First off don't do anywhere near the £20 chips on Ebay, search on the fourms for upsolute and you should come up with some reading material.

Hi Hoody, several people here went the chip route and they tend to come in around £305 (upsolute) and give around 150bhp (and not 131)

Ron (a highly regarded member of many years and all round good guy) developed his tuning box, and several other tweeks for the car. Since then, I doubt anyone has gone the chip route as they are dearer, and cannot be taken from car to car when you sell.

Have a look at these 2 sites
http://www.tuning-diesels.com/75Zt/R75tu3.htm

and here
http://tuning-diesels.com/newtu3page.htm

Bear in mind, his products have featured in and are recommended by Car Mechanics magazine!

Ti Rich and I (and most probally others) have both ReMap and a Ron box plus all the other Mods along the Way.
I found Rons Synergy box was much better than the Remap and wouldn't have had that done if I had known about that first.
The two combined and other Mods have given me 169 BHP on Rolling road, but no De Cat or EGR Bypass Yet, haven't had time to do.
