Default Spare wheel

I poked around in the boot at the weekend to realise that the space for a spare wheel is taken up by a lump of polystyrene and a can. Call me old fashioned (well I do drive a 75.. ).

Will a proper spare wheel fit in the space and what's the lowest cost way of getting a wheel that can be used.

Thanks.

Yes - and go on ebay - many wheels to be had there - spacesavers or otherwise

The lowest cost way is to buy a crown wheel and tyre. it doesnt matter what size your wheels are a crown will do as a spare. the crowns are 15" but the profile of the tyre is such that the overall diameter is the same as 16" 17" or even 18" wheels with lower profiles. I have 18" gridspokes but my spare is a 16" union but the diameter of the wheel and tyre combined is the same...
