they can be removed if you dont have the airbags jakes and op has the trims are fixed to the bag

A pillars the ones on the side of the windscreen.
As far as i know having removed the panels and recovered them in leather the ones with out the air bags just pop off, the airbag ones have to be deactivated first and then removed, they are also held on by retainer straps to stop them from hitting you in the head if the bags go off
