Don't know, but you have to get right in below to see it properly. On Saturday I was doing the rear brakes, had the discs and calipers off, and didn't notice it. On Sunday I had it over the pit to clean up the pipes along the floor and seen it when I was right underneath it. No rust antwhere else.

My tourer has a few patches of the dreaded brown rot...I think it is something that in the main can be attributed to the tourer as opposed to the whole range.

Default Rust! - yes really!!!

I should have been more clear. There is no rust visible at all on my tourer unless you look at it on ramps from beneath. It seems limited to the rear subframe and suspension fixings as the floor, etc is rust free although I have just had the brake pipes replaced. The subframe has as much rust as paint but I agree it is not made of flimsy metal. I just feel it is worth pointing it out as it is no good waiting 'til you have a major problem and have to have a subframe fabricated. This may be years but after nearly 6 years I still love my 75 (my third!) and will not be selling it.

I have seen this on saloons and tourers, cars are perfect but subframes rusty.Same with alot of cars.Get the wire brush and black paint outAlthough the subframes are very tough I would not leave it to long before a good painting.Prevention is better than cure
