My old s500 had a clever device fitted, it was a metal coil of thin piping that was plumbed into the engine coolant system and went into the washer bottle, so as the engine got hot so did the screen wash, and it worked very, very well, there is nothing like hot screen wash to shift dirt!!

Used to be an after market accessory to heat screen wash fluid. A simple coiled copper tube inside an aluminium casing and carried the washer fluid, the larger 1/2" pipe was plumbed into the heater hose. I remember the advert asked 'would you wash dishes in cold water?' - used to fit these on my cars and they worked very well in coldest weather.

When you come to connect your wiring, be aware that it passes round the back of the bonnet hinge and through a slot between the inner & outer wings, not through the same hole as the washer tubing.

I didnt remove the wiper arms on mine, or the plenum cover, and the wheel arch liner can just be moved to one side to get at the wiring, you may have to search blindly for the connector behind the wing, it took me ages to find and when i did find it, it wasnt in a plastic bag but it did have a protective bung in the end of the connector
I did find removing the side repeater indicator helped me to fish the connector out |

When I did mine I just removed the end scuttle fixing and gently prised the scuttle panel up and slid the wire underneath.
