welding is not as much as a problem, as ending up with a box that has the wrong back pressure, hence the difference in turbo models sometimes.
And yes the mounting brackets are also a concern. not sure how they would go on the tourer, without the loose bracket. Unless one has very thin hands.

Why not look into having a back box fabricated from stainless steel, cheaper than you think. |

Hi everyone Spyder, Pab, Mark.....Well, I certainly ain't got 180 quid for a box, that's for sure...As for my box at the moment, no holes or anything, seems that the stuffing stuff from th bafflers is coming out.... It burbles and pops, but when i pushed a rod into the box, I could feel the softness of something , pushed it back and the noise stops... |

But it makes it feel and sound as if the engine is misfiring... As of it is only running on 3 cylinders.... On tick over that is, once you start driving, it is back to normal... |

Got to watch a collapsing exhaust, if it blocks and causes too much back pressure it will not do your turbo(oops no turbo on yours), or in the extreme, HGF any good.
A leaking box at least just makes a noise-or falls off.
