Dont know why you dont just get them a 360. It's got every good game that matter's and more on it. And it's far and away the better of the two.

we have . we have a fat ps2 and had a fat ps3 which died when i went to germany out of the blue so i now have a 320Gb which as with most ps3's will do most ps1 games still but the ps2 is better over all for ps1 stuff it is a major shame they stopped the ps2 option on it . i have a lot of ps1 and 2 stuff

You cant seriously expect sony to keep supporting games that are mostly over ten years old now. Especialy when you can pick up a ps1 for about a tenner.

That's like saying i just bought a Blueray player pity it dosent support Beta max..

Did consider a 360 but as the ps3 has blu ray it seems the better option.

So stick with the PS2 and buy a blue ray player. You can get a good one now for about £100. And you can easily pick up a 360 for about the same..
