Weston Park - Race for Life event
We spent our Morning at Weston Park today, a beautiful place.
Today was the 2011 Race for Life at Weston Park of which my Wife took part with her friend. A 10 Kilometre track through the park and around 3,500 Women taking part. My Wife finished in 1 hour and 36 Minutes. The quickest was about 45 Minutes and the youngest entry finished in just under an hour So, I figured I would post this just to congratulate anyone who has a Female relative or friend or even themselves who took part in this or any other of the Race For Life events. I have to say, and have no shame in admitting, that I became somewhat emotional watching the faces of many women, who as they closed to the finish line, the look of personal accomplishment and pride in their faces, well it hit home, but none was more satisfying than the look of my wifes face as she was joined for the last 100 metres or so by our Kids, it was priceless. After the race we sat down by one of the Lakes with my wifes friends and our Kids and had a Picnic, then my Son and I had a walk along the lakeside trying to find the chirping crickets, watching the Dragonflies, Bees and various other insects, we even got to see a Fish splash out of the lake catching a feed, awesome .
