It looks as if Starman has simply used female spade sockets on the two wires in the loom. What is not shown in the photos, is that I guess he must have crimped spade male plugs onto the LED wire ends - making them easy to disconnect should the need arise. The spades are not essential, but you must ensure the LED's are designed to be run from a 12v auto supply.

Hiya Harry. Think I have got the gist of it now.... I shall get some male and female spade connectors and follow what you have said. I have also had a pm from Willy saying much the same thing so with thanks to both of you, I should have them working fairly soon.... Poppy |

Harry, Willy my heroes cheers guys I didn't make that very clear did I.
Please excuse me I'm a virgin at this how to thing I cut the wires, removed a bit of the sheath and twisted them together (same colour wire )to maintain the circuit, the female spade connectors sipped on and then I crimped them tight. The reason they are both female is incase the LEDs were ever taken off, the spades wouldn't short or be put together. Also if you ake the door card off you can unplug rather than remove the LEDs. Hope that makes sense. Apologies Poppy for not being very clear on that. I'm glad your giving it a go My best. Steve.

Hi Poppy. I took mine back about half way, which I did by trial and error over a few nights to see the effect.
Essentially so long as you don't expose the actual wokings you are ok. I think mine are about 1~1.5mm over the gubbings inside.. If you feel you have taken enough oFf then I'd say stop there and see. You can always whip it out and take a shade more off if you fancy. Regards. Steve.
