Default Windscreen replacement

Hello
I need to replace the windscreen on my 2002 Rover 75 tourer (2L Diesel). Currently I have a windscreen with rain sensative wipers, but I can get a better deal on a replacement windscreen that doesn't have this feature. Can a non-rain sensative windscreen be fitted as a replacement or would this either not fit or cause a failure\warning light to be constantly displayed on the dashboard?
Also it talks about a 'green shadeband' but I can't see any green shading really - just a black shading around the edge of the windscreen and where the rear view mirror is mounted
Thank you
Keir

As you may well know most automotive windscreen replacement companies stock both types of replacements, the version with the sensor is no extra cost if supplied via the insurance company on a claim if your policy covers windscreen replacement.

If you want to revert to a standard windscreen and are worried about errors on the IPK to my knowledge this is not an item that would display a message.
