was the origanal cdt thermostat coated in red
just wondering swaped the cdt thermostat yesterday as when running the gauge would start dropping when not working the engine.
the thermostat i removed was ready for replacment as the seal from the housing to engine was starting to go water stains all around the seal. the thermostat itself was sprayed in what looked like a red paint was that normal stat was stamped the same as the new genuwin bmw one and housing was a bmw one.
