Default A super weekend!!

Just got home from Brackley, home of the Honda F1 factory, they had a charity open day today. Too successful, I think, as over 5000 folks were there, and the facilities were shall we say stretched.

In theory, brilliant, park & ride from about 3 miles away, but there was a long queue for the coach, and queuing systems for the various tours. We didn't actually get round the factory, as the Q was estimated at an hour and a half, then the tour was up to 2 hours on top.

Saw Murray Walker and Jenson Button on the stage though, so all in all a good weekend, yesterday I had some laps around Silverstone in a Caterham, courtesy SWMBO (60th b'day pressie). I can recommend that!!!!

I did the Honda day today too - but I figured it was getting busy first thing so I did the factory tour early doors and went straight in.
Was nice to get around there again as I've been a few times as I was in a karting team who beat the honda guys a few times so got a free tour as a prize
I think if they do it again though they'll either restrict the ticket sales and do it over a couple of days or give time slots for the various activities on the tickets to bring the queues down some.

Found the car they were using for the pit stop challenge quite funny too - an F1 car with what sounded like a single piston lawnmower engine in it!
And Jenson's mum ringing him when he was on stage having a chat was most amusing

I was most impressed at the price they were selling off last season's clothing etc too - managed to get me a team jacket with zip in fleece for £25 and the quality is top notch!
Makes my Northern Face one look a little pricey I must admit!

I'll definitely be up for another event if they do one though and I'll plan the day out more now I know what they'll be doing and where!
