Default Don't you just hate it when....

...you go to the trouble of ringing a retailer to ask if they have something in stock and they just say '...probably, come take a look'. I could be ringing from round the corner, or the other end of the country. I obviously have rung to save my time and fuel, why cannot they just get off their back sides and go look, or check their stock on the computer?

This morning I rang a caravan dealer for a replacement rear light lens, seven miles and an hour wasted on their 'probably' despite being able to quote the name and manufacturers model number. Luckily another dealer in the same town did have one on the shelf.

Needing parts for your car, you ring scrap yards to ask if they have a certain make and model in. How come they don't even have a list of cars they have in their yards, surely it isn't that difficult to keep an up to date list? The correct make and model gives me a chance of finding the part I'm looking for, but if they don't even know what cars they have....

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

Much better organised here in France Harry.
Giant sheds with all the bits removed from the cars and put on shelves in an easy order to find what you want quickly.
They also use computers to list parts and check prices. They don't just think up a price they know what each part is worth ( unfortunately ) and charge quite a bit for what you want.
