Default 3rd Party Aerial Amp?

My aerial amp doesn't work (causes more interference than signal) so i unplugged it and it's fine now - albeit weak signal on radio 4 (my fav channel)

I'm thinking whether 3rd party inline amp might work

That's the same type I used when I got the 1st test head unit from Sean, its a much tighter fit on the ISO aerial connector that the one that's supplied with the head unit .

I was actually going to fit it on the aerial end where the original booster is - dunno whether it would fit though because they dont seem use standard coax connection - pulled out the aerial and it just has bare wire

I think the general opinion arrived at on those, was that there is no actual amp inside them at all.

Might your interference be due to a problem with the rear window heater generting interferance when it automatically turns on?

Aslo worth checking that your built-in amp is getting the full 12v.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

MarkUK's additional amp works well and is a genuine amp. Several of us needed it to resolve the issue of the TMC needing its own separate antenna feed. Assuming you do fail to resolve your problem with the existing amp, talk to Mark about his amp.
