Ive always thought it was more profitable for the government
to keep road tax and fuel seperate because if they were together how could they justify putting £10 or £20 on a ltr of fuel which is what any increase in road tax would be. This was done to council tenants some years ago everything used to be in with their rent water rates & general rates which when increased people would moan the rent has gone up but now they have separated them from the rent people will moan the water rates have gone up or the rent has gone up and the council tax has gone up and they all increase by the same percentage so you end up paying 3 times what you would of done had they all been incorporated in the one amount. Well thats my little moan for the day Last edited by nick nick; 24th February 2011 at 06:58.. |

Better to encourage some of that money to be spent on the actual roads...

Have you seen the way they word it now it's not called tax it's called vehicle excise duty so they don't have to spend it on repairing the roads etc. But when you want the ved back the form says vehicle tax. So they say it's one thing to suit them then another when you want the money back.
