Weston park model air show
I am off to Weston Park tomorrow
http://www.westonparkmodelairshow.co.uk/ I do hope the parking will be less of a shambles than those at the Cosford Airshow last weekend! |

That looks like a really nice day out. The weather looks like it may relent for Sunday as well.
Have fun. Post pics if you get a chance. |

I never go, just watch it all from my back garden. The Red Arrows came over more times than normal, then I discovered from the sis-in-law that a microlight and a hanglider flew straight inside their flight area! Oh deary me!

Well £25 to got us all in and we discovered a quagmire!
You could either stand ankle deep in mud or stand behind the trade stands and see nothing Fortunately on the high ground they had a model RC car track which entertained the kids and a good adventure playground. Later in he afternoon they did a pyrotechnic display with large scale WWII planes which was good to watch though. Years ago I was quite active on the RC flying scene and I was a founder member of the North Downs MFC, I thought the commentator that used to cover our shows had died yonks ago, nice to see him still doing the shows There was a very impressive 21' span sail plane with a Jet turbine bolted on top unbelievable rate of climb from it £10,000 though for a model plane, well out of my price range! I need to find out when the next large scale event is on, hopefully drier though! |

Getting to and from airshows has always been a problem though we used to go to Biggin Hill Airshow regularly always by motorbike and always ended up doing several miles past queing traffic and the usual assortment of boiled over cars I think the longest run past stationary traffic I did like that was 9 miles through Westerham etc! |
