Relay 5 in Engine fuse box is the heater blower fan
Relay 2 is the HRW

Swap them round (usually yellow type)

If that doesn't work, then probably the module (see below)
We've changed 2 in the last month.

Heater Fan module Electronic (passenger footwell 2 screws, 5 min job)
Part number
ZUA000590 £105.47 ex VAT £123.93 inc VAT
JGN100000

Les SMC has them in much much cheaper!

I had the same problem with my ZTT 260. I purchased a new motor and Nick at Austin Garage fitted it for me. The whole dash and centre console had to come out. When fitted the replacement motor it still did not work. The motor circuit had lost its earth, It proved to be a plug in the main harness behind the passenger airbag not clipped home on one end.

Goog Luck.

Fiddled around in the passenger footwell, but only managed to remove the wrong component (motor for the passenger side air mixture flap) and obviously didn't relocate it properly upon refitting because now there's an error code 32 coming up. I feel sorry for the mechanic whose job it is to dig around footwells for a living! Is it because the car is LHD that it is so difficult to do anything without dislocating your joints? I can't seem to locate the NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-' right part. Does anyone know what the wiring colours are that go to the module? Maybe that way I can get the right part this time.

Some Pics for you:

Blower module on a RHD car is in Passenger footwell.
Centre of Photo
4 Pin plug with thick Brown & Black cables.

Module removed (2 screws)
First remove the black air outlet and piece of trim behind it. (one screw)

IF YOU REMOVE THE TRANSISTOR PACK WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE CENTRAL CONSUL IN THE PASSENGER SIDE AND OPEN IT UP THERE IS A THERMAL FUSE.THIS NORMALLY BLOWS HENCE NO HEATER FAN IF YOU REPLACE THIS FUSE(2amp thermal fuse can buy from Maplins) AND THE FAN WILL ONLY WORK ON FULL YOU WILL REQUIRE A NEW EXPENSIVE TRANSISTOR PACK.
YOU CAN DO HAS I DO AND PUT UP WITH THE NOISE TILL YOU DEMIST THEN TURN OFF THE FAN

Managed to get hold of a new fan motor for £50 and had it fitted so all is now great in the missus' world.

For my own interest, I requested the mechanic provide me with the old motor, which he did - meaning that he definitely went to the trouble of removing it and replacing it with the new one. When I got home I tested the old motor and guess what.....it still works!!!!! WTF?

Perhaps it was something simpler after all and what he gave you back was the motor you just bought?!!!

What did he charge you to fit motor out of interest?
