Default 2003 Hiline ICE Very newbie

Hi just bought this lovelly car with 40,000 on it stunning condition. Just sorted getting GPS to work (the cd was shot) got a new one of a certain intenet site for £10 for 2009 maps as well, now all works.

My main Q is my multi cahnger does not play any MP3 files on CD's should it?

and I sure somewhere on here I saw a thread that states there is a usb port on the system somewhere, Has it? I cannot find anymention of it in the manual. Or can I get a cable set up to plug in a USB stick I do not want one of theose in the tape player thingies. I do not want any to complicated I quite like the volume, sound of the system just want to be able to play all my music which is mostly MP3 files ps it would be nice to keep cd in place as well.

Heres hoping

Cheers Guys Gary

Hi,
Sounds like a nice car you have there. Got any piccies? Can I be rude and ask what you paid for it?

The answer is no, your cd player will only play old school cd's.

It doesn't have a USB port either. Although a nice and top end system ten years ago, it's an "old school system", so you won't be able to play MP3's etc.

You might have read about USB ports on a thread discussing the new double din chinese units that are now available they play almost any format of anything you can throw at them and do everything except make the tea! lol!!

What engine do you have?? I'm looking at getting LPG soon for mine (2.5v6)

The head unit is quite capable of playing and displaying MP3 infromation, however the changer can't! if you were to find an Alpine CD changer for a BMW that has MP3 compatablity

Let me Know ! cos i need one too!

Hi,
Several members (including myself) have ditched the multichanger and fitted an Ipod through a Intravee interface with all info displayed on your monitor. If you search through posts from "Reebs" he posted a very thorough "How to" HTH.

Regards
