Default dangling wire

looked under my car yesterday at the front under the engine i spotted a thin wire trailing on the ground with what looked like a sensor enclosed in a small poly bag tucked it up out the way.

anybody got any ideas?

sounds like the sensor for your external air temp should be fixed to the back of the front fog light i think

thanks for the quick reply i dont think its the temp sensor as its only dangling down about 6 in just in front of the front wheel and its enclosed in a small poly bag ? i just shoved it back up under the tray but it fell out today which reminded me of it
